I am feeling quite creative today. Well, lately I have been. Not sure what it is exactly, maybe the crisp morning air? Maybe the pumpkin flavored everything? Perhaps that leaf colors that take my breath away? Yes…it’s the leaves..it HAS to be! Anyway, I just want to share a few of my favorite blogs, websites, ideas, photos, you name it. For no particular reason really, other than just to share with YOU! Hope you enjoy!
First off, I have been seeing these ridiculously cute hangers with names formed from wire, it can be for anything really, but what caught my eye were the wedding-inspired hangers. The hangers with the bride’s new name. They sell everywhere, including Etsy, for give or take $30 a pop. Well I just so happened to have some awesome wood hangers laying around that never get used (I am SO particular with the hangers I put my clothes on…call it OCD, call it whatever you want, I TOTALLY got that from my dad ?), so I dug them out. Next I hopped onto YouTube, found a couple tutorials, ran into the garage with way too much excitement to find the needle-nose pliers, and finally drove to Home Depot in my PJs to get the last, and most important tool, the wire! It look three trial runs, but finally this appeared:
It’s not perfect, but I think that’s why I love it so much. And with luck on my side, a good friend of mine was getting married THAT WEEKEND, so I made this for her. She loved it, but it took a little convincing for her to believe I made it!
Next on my list of LOVES, is feathers. They have been standing out to me so much lately. Not sure why, but I love ‘em! You can imagine my happiness when I found this awesome blog! My heart was dancing, and all of the sudden I wanted to be a wedding or party planner for the rest of my life!
Yesterday, while I sat down on the computer with my must-have morning cup of joe, I stumbled across something that really took my breath away. Something that really made me think a little deeper, appreciate a LOT more, and quite honestly, I bawled my eyes out. It’s a story of a man, Taylor Morris, who lost all 4 limbs while serving our country as an elite member of armed forces, known as the EOD, and survived, with AMAZING grace I might add, to tell the story. I won’t get into much detail here, but you should read all about it. A good buddy of his just so happens to be an amazing photographer, and you can check out his blog and all of the stories about Taylor here. Make sure you have a little time, and a LOT of tissue. Oh, and it will probably help if you don’t have to go anywhere right after reading it
OK now onto my last little find. Brought to you by the same blog that posted about the feathers, I also came across this story, a story of an awesome, I-totally-want-to-photograph-something-like-that, backyard barbeque, and surprise proposal to top it off. Make sure you watch the video. Oh, and I hope you still have a couple of tissues handyCheck it out here.
That’s all for now folks. Thanks for taking the time to read this random Friday morning blog about stuff that I love! Have a awesome weekend, and I’ll leave you with a quote that I love right now…
“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.” – Mark Twain
